Healthy Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Winter is coming.

Cozying up with a homemade pumpkin spiced latte makes it so much easier. As the food industry tries to sell us on pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING, remember that most of those options don't have actual pumpkin in them. They’re mostly loaded with chemicals our bodies don’t recognize as food.

Opt for a cleaner version at home. It takes no more than 5 minutes to make and tastes way better than any store bought ‘flavored’ coffee.

Remember, organic coffee is always best as it’s free of unnecessary pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals. Organic coffee not only tastes better, but it’s incredibly better for the environment. We the consumer hold great power in how the food industry grows and distributes food. We vote with our dollar.

Fun Facts:

"Two billion pounds of coffee are produced each year. Even if half was produced organically, the reduction in agricultural chemical use would be astounding — not to mention the health benefits to humans that drink coffee and those who are employed in the coffee industry. Organic coffees are healthier for the environment as they don’t use chemicals that can deplete the environment and harm the people who live on and tend to the coffee farms.

Unadulterated coffee, meanwhile, thrives in the shade under the lush canopy of thick, tropical forests.

In other words, forests don’t need to be slashed and burned to make room for organic coffee crops, because natural coffee grows better in those woodlands anyway. Regular coffee, meanwhile, is usually grown on large sprawling farms that were once forested.

Remember to use coffee as a treat, for many, regular coffee consumption can cause adrenal fat." (1)
