Ginger Lemonade Detox Elixir

This ginger lemonade is the perfect summer drink to beat the bloat. It's refreshing, delicious, and super easy to make.  Ginger is has been used in Ayurvedic Medicine for thousands of years for its medicinal properties. It's also a great detoxifier and alkalizer (as opposed to acidic, diseases such as cancer cannot survive in an alkaline body). And finally, ginger helps with nausea, morning sickness, cramping, and sea sickness.

 

Lime aids with digestion and alkalizing your body. It's rich in vitamin C and has powerful antioxidant and anti cancer properties.  It's a natural tool to help with constipation. The ample amount of acids present in lime helps clear the excretory system by washing and cleaning off the tracts, just as some acids are used to clean floors and toilets. 

 

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 Lime

1 TBS roughly chopped ginger (with no peel)

2 TBS of maple syrup (optional)

2 cups of water

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Blend the ginger and the juice of 1 lime (may have to add some water to blend it throughly)

2. Strain  ginger and lime

3. Add in  water and maple syrup

4. Add ice and stir

Hint: You can modify the amount of water and maple syrup to accommodate your taste buds. 

 

 

OR 

Drink it warm! 

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 Lime

1/2  TBS grated ginger (with no peel)

2 TBS of maple syrup (optional)

2 cups of water

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, and add it grated ginger

2. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.

3. Strain the ginger, and add in lime juice

3. Add maple syrup (optional)
